HDB floor plan: where to get yours

The floor plan of your HDB flat is in the sales brochure you were given when you chose the flat. If you do not have it, HDB sells a copy for $5, through its Purchase of Residential Floor Plan e-Service or at a self-service kiosk at any HDB Branch.

The two places to get it

  • The sales brochure. HDB says you can use the floor plan of your flat given to you in the sales brochure during flat selection.
  • A $5 copy from HDB. Otherwise, HDB says you will have to buy a copy at $5, through its Purchase of Residential Floor Plan e-Service or at a self-service kiosk at any HDB Branch.

Why a renovation needs it

HDB evaluates certain renovations, such as demolishing a wall, before they may start. For those, your renovation contractor submits the flat’s floor plan showing the proposed work, together with the online renovation application. So a contractor who is touching walls will ask you for the plan early. More on that in the HDB renovation permit.

What to do with it

A floor plan is the cheapest way to try a layout before anyone is paid to build it. Bring yours into Setout as a photo or a PDF, set its scale from one dimension printed on it, and the walls are read off the drawing. Then furnish it at true size, walk through it in 3D, and get the paint and flooring measured off the same plan.
