You can import a floor plan, trace walls, furnish rooms, price the job and export a quote without signing in to anything. In that mode nothing you do is sent anywhere.

• The floor plan you import — image, PDF or DXF — is read in the browser. It is never uploaded.
• Your room, your rate list and your quote are saved in that browser’s local storage. They stay on that device, and clearing site data removes them.
• 3D models you import are stored in the browser’s own database (IndexedDB), on that device only.

Signing in exists for one reason: so a design follows you to another device. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, using Google. Setout never sees or stores a password.

• From Google we receive your email address, your name and your profile picture. Nothing else is requested — not your contacts, calendar, files or anything from any other Google service.
• Your design is then stored on our server: the plan, the furniture on it, the finishes, and the imported floor plan image. It is filed against your account and readable only by you. Every read and write requires you to be signed in; there is no anonymous access to anyone’s design.
• Imported 3D models stay on your device even when signed in. Elsewhere, and in a shared link, such an item appears as a plain box of the right size.

A share link is view-only, and anyone who has it can open the design it points at. Treat it like a document link: it is not secret, and it is not indexed by search engines. Do not share one containing anything you would not want passed on.

There is no analytics package on this site. No third-party tracker, no advertising network, no session recording, no cookie banner — because there is nothing to consent to.

The one thing counted is vendor listings. When a listed product is placed, swapped or clicked through, a counter is incremented. It records the listing, the month and the kind of action, and nothing else — no account, no address, no identifier of any sort. It cannot be traced to a person because it never contains one.

• Clerk — accounts and sign-in.
• Neon — the Postgres database holding saved designs.
• Vercel — hosting, which means ordinary web server logs.

Signed out, clearing your browser’s site data removes everything Setout has kept. For an account, email benny@synthwork.app and the account and its designs will be deleted.
